Precision and Balance Through Automation

Precision and Balance Through Automation Automation plays a key role in fish farming, enabling precise monitoring, control, and adjustment of production processes.

Automation is at the heart of fish farming, making it possible to closely monitor, steer, and fine-tune production. In an aquaculture environment, even small changes in temperature, water quality, or nutritional balance can have a significant impact on fish welfare and growth rate. Automated systems ensure that these factors remain optimal around the clock, reducing the risk of human error.

At Finnforel’s production facilities in both Varkaus and Hollola, operations are managed through advanced automation systems that comprehensively monitor, control, and adjust processes. These systems enable precise optimisation of the rearing environment and guarantee the well-being of the fish.

The automation projects at the Varkaus facility and the Hatsina facility in Hollola have received support from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund.. This funding enables the implementation of innovative and sustainable energy solutions that promote environmentally friendly fish farming.
