Finnforel divests its shares in Alltech Fennoaqua

Finnforel has on Friday 27th June 2025 sold all of its shares in Alltech Fennoaqua to Alltech. Alltech was already a shareholder of Alltech Fennoaqua.

Finnforel will focus on its core business, which is growing and processing sustainable rainbow trout in a RAS environment. “This allows us to further focus on our aquaculture business and pursue our growth plans for the coming years” says Finnforel CEO Nora Hortling.

Finnforel originally bought Fennoaqua together with Alltech and Heino Group from Raisio Oyj in 2023. In the last couple of year’s Alltech Fennoaqua has successfully expanded into new geographical markets and proven its competitiveness. We are proud to see an increasing role of Alltech in supporting regional and sustainable aquaculture feed production.

“With Alltech’s expanded ownership and continued investment, we are better positioned than ever to serve aquaculture producers with innovative, sustainable feed solutions — all while supporting domestic food security and export growth.,” says Tomi Kantola, CEO of Alltech Fennoaqua. “Finnforel remains an important customer and our cooperation will continue especially in the development of RAS feeds.”

Alltech Fennoaqua and Finnforel will continue cooperation through a strategic partnership.
